Role: Product / UX / UI Designer
Context: SaaS – Data Management
As Lead Designer for a SaaS based company, I owned the user experience for one of their leading products, iManage Work. Our team consisted of a PO, PM, Devs and QA’s. We worked together with-in a design thinking process to help identify and fix customer pain points. We measured and tested our findings to understand which ideas were likely to be successful with our users.
The most important thing to keep in mind when designing a mobile app is to make sure it is both useful and intuitive. If the app is not useful, it has no practical value for the user and no one has any reason to use it. If the app is useful but requires a lot of time and effort, people won’t bother learning how to use it.
Principles I used to guide my mobile design decisions:
Search is a conversation between the user and the application, the user expresses their information need, and the app expresses its response as a set of results. Users expect smooth experiences when searching and they typically make quick judgments about an app’s value based on the quality of one or two sets of search results.
